International Star Kate Del Castillo signed my tweet
Just a few weeks ago I came across a promoted Tweet from @KateDelCastillo (internationally acclaimed film & television actor) who has some of us may know starred in Telemundo's hit novela, "La Reina del Sur." I thought to myself, well this is a nifty #SignMyTweet campaign brought to you by Xfinity Latino.

Brands and their Hispanic Heritage Month promotions
Well it seems as though Hispanic Heritage Month is in full bloom and I'm seeing more and more promotions from major corporations and brands.
Just recently I received and email from iTunes which is owned by Apple. The email stated:
I did some quick Hispanic Heritage Month Twitter research and found a good number of brands/corporations capitalizing on Twitter. Are there any brands you'd like to recognize for their HHM outreach?
See the tweets after the jump.

For a limited time, chart-topping albums from great Latin artists like Romeo Santos, Selena, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, and Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga are available for just $5.99.And I must say I was really tempted to purchase the Enrique Iglesias album; especially after attending his concert with Pitbull at Boardwalk Hall. Alas, I did not purchase. I recently started listening to iTunes' variety of playlists. I even put on a Charlie Zaa playlist for my mom (during a road trip) and she asked, "How the hell do you have this music?!"

Verizon makes a presence
Sometimes I wonder how businesses decide to take part in the social media world. While small organizations simply give the task to an intern, large corporations have to find the right team and/or agency to handle these operations. And I'm assuming that's what VERIZON did when today they launched their Hispanic social media properties. Starting today you can add Facebook.com/SomosVerizonFiOS and follow @SomosFiOS.
While there is much more content to add, the first awesome opportunity is (of course) a contest. But not just any contest. "Likers" have a chance to win a trip for two to Los Angeles to meet Ana de la Reguera, star of HBO Latino’s hit show “Capadocia,” when you like them on Facebook. The second is a Twitter party they are hosting on October 11 for Hispanic Heritage Month. The team expects a great turnout, as partygoers will discuss culture and Latino living. Five lucky guests will win cool tech prizes if/when they are the first to answer questions about HHM. Best believe I'll be at the Twitter party :).

Philadelphia's biggest Twittero
A week ago Al Dia found Philadelphia's Latino Twitter user with the most followers. Marisol Maldonado aka @SocialSola has a little above 7000 followers with lots of engagement all around. She RTs, @ replies, hashtags and pretty much has conversations all around. Did I mention her job is teaching companies how to use social media?
According to the Al Dia article, "Hace dos años, mientras celebraba el Día de la Madre, Marisol decidió hacerle caso a las insistentes recomendaciones que amigos y familiares le hacían: 'Deberías abrir una cuenta en Twitter', recuerda." And starting Twitter pretty much is always that simple; someone recommends and there you go. I started almost three years ago and have met some pretty amazing people via the social networking site.
So why do you use Twitter? To just talk trash...promote your business...chat chat chat...meet people...Other? Either way be weary about how you use it. I'm no expert but there are some things you don't do. Like what? Well don't say you're completely drunk or smoking some ______ or even curse for that matter. I see too much crap that makes me think, "Yeah I wouldn't hire you." It's a shame I know but it's also reality.

Being Latino & Hispanicize partner to take over the world
Okay so they might not be taking over the world but they sure are doing great things. Being Latino, one of the leading Latino community and social media platforms in the U.S. and publisher of Being Latino Online Magazine is partnering with social media content and blogger marketing platform, Hispanicize. The partnership immediately combines the communities and resources of two of the most influential and innovative Latino social media entities in the nation. Not too shabby huh?
So what's in store? Well the creation of a hashtag #BeLatino which will be heavily promoted across various platforms to facilitate discussion and unify the diverse Latino voices online. I wonder if they'll have heavy influence through the #latism hashtag? Either way, Latinos are all over the social media space. And today I discovered Philadelphia's Latino(a) with the most followers but I can't announce it until tomorrow haha. This partnership is just the beginning of many online partnerships.
Here's a fancy video explaining the partnership. Enjoy!

Tweets on a funny day
The following Tweets I thought symbolized realness. They symbolize what we want to say in real life but for some odd reason we have to say it over Twitter. If we have to say it front of people, we will, but it's always easier to do it over Twitter. Enjoy!
I think he secretly missed Philly ;).

Let's talk to ourselves even more :)

Keepin' it real I see.

Tweets on a good day
Hump day is usually the day we start to "officially" plan our weekends. I'm pretty sure we get the funniest Tweets on these days because it is the middle of the week. Why complain when you can tweet!? Here are today's tweets of the day:

I love food and when people tweet about it lol.

What's right after food? Why drinks of course!

Can't forget about America's birthplace celebrating their birthday!

Southwest. When don't they ever fail you?

Welcome Home Chile!
Congrats world...you just made a positive impact on all our lives. Just in case you've lived under a rock for the last two months, 33 miners were trapped underground in Chile for 68 days and today the rescue went underway as the world watched and prayed for its success. Here are some of the great tweets I saw throughout the evening:- @jeannettekaplun: Chilean journalists estimate 1 billion people are watching the miners being rescued #latism
- @LevantateTV: Uno de los hijos de Florencio Ávalos lo espera con gran emoción en la superficie.
- @ERgeekGoddess: @jeannettekaplun Mi vida, siempre! Hoy el mundo entero es chileno #fuerzamineros #latism
- @iGam4 - El hijo del minero se llama "iron" verga!! D: #FuerzaMineros #Chile

Tweets to Make You Proud
When there's an independence day, promotion, new job, new baby or whatever, we seem to LOVE to post it on our Twitter and Facebook. Telling the world about our positive news is what we should always be reading, not about why we hate "this and that". Here are today's tweets of the day.

We love being 200 years old. Go us!

Go me! I do love to write

Not positive. Not negative. Just knowing where he is makes me laugh.
