Tweets of the Day is Back

I know I haven't had Tweets of the Day in a while but as you know we all need a little break. Twitter is changing every day and there's even something called "Promoted Tweets". Have we gone too far? I don't think so. Here are today's Tweets of the day.

Movies. They can get bashed with a single Tweet.

We all love free stuff. So why not announce it!

Woops. lol

A little behind in our social media are we? It's okay to ask.

Plug in Time: 5th Annual Gamma Picnic

As if you already had plans for all of July? Everyone's favorite summer activity is back and we're ready to go swimming. I mean who doesn't like hanging out with Gamma Phi Sigma? (Don't answer that). But Nockamixon State Park is a lot of fun. The 5,283-acre park is in the rolling hills of scenic Bucks County, close enough to Philadelphia for a day trip, but far enough away for a vacation. There's also a pool...'nuff said.

The picnic costs $5 but it's for a good cause...we're starting a philanthropy which encompasses scholarships for high school students and more. We'll also be selling tickets to the RISC Stepshow on Saturday, August 14th, 2010 in NYC.

Target Hispanic Media?!

As everyone by now knows, a lot of organizations are looking to cater to Hispanic audiences. With that said, a lot of public relations campaigns are turning into Hispanic media. But where do you start? Where do you find the local Hispanic newspapers, Telemundo, Univision, web pages, etc?

Hispanic media is no longer coming of age – it's established and it's powerful...just look at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. To help you tap into this highly-influential group, PRnewswire has launched a robust media targeting database service – Hispanic MEDIAbaseTM, powered by Hispanic PR Wire.

Hispanic MEDIAbaseTM can help you:

  • Launch a Hispanic blogger campaign and encourage social media sharing, giving your message the opportunity to go viral

  • Create and save individual, targeted U.S. Hispanic media lists for your clients or organizational news concerning healthcare, consumer goods, travel and tourism, and more

  • Find individual Hispanic journalists and send a personalized pitch about your upcoming product launch

  • Tell your story to the radio and television broadcasters who are most likely to invite your Hispanic expert spokesperson to the studio for a live interview

Viajando con Veronica en Filadelfia

A lot of people wonder what I do for work and to be honest I prefer I have them not know. They just need to know I work with media of all types. Well this Saturday, if you live anywhere in or around New England, you get to see the final product of my work! A little over a month ago I brought a camera crew to explore Philadelphia for four whole days! We covered everything including Historic Philadelphia, El Centro do Oro, Philadelphia Zoo, Please Touch and my favorite Sesame Place!

Airing este sabado a las 10, "Orale Con Veronica" will take you to Philadelphia! "Orale Con Veronica" showcases local talent, highlights a variety of topics important to the Latino community, and provides advice and information for its viewers. The segment I helped out with is "Viajando Con Veronica"; it discovers affordable and some times FREE places and activities for people to enjoy with family and friends in their own city emphasizing on historic landmarks and public parks.

So enjoy and let me know what you think.

Museo de las Americas

I'm a huge fan of celebrating your culture; that's why every time I visit a new city, I want to see where all the Latinos are hiding. Last week I attended the National Association of Hispanic Journalists convention in Denver, CO and to my surprise, there were Latinos. According to Denver's Convention & Visitors Bureau, "Hispanic Denver is vibrant, alive, and teeming with energy. According to the Colorado State Demography office, 34% of Denver's population is Hispanic."

I was able to walk through the Sante Fe Art District which made me think I was walking through Mexico. Then I came across the Museo de las Americas which educates the community about the diversity of Latino Americano art and culture from ancient to contemporary through innovative exhibitions and programs. Although it's a small gallery space, I'm glad there's something like this in Denver. El museo reminded me of Taller PR in Philadelphia. So if you're ever in the Denver area, be sure to stop by.

The Klass Klown

For the past few days John Leguizamo has been in Philadelphia for his one-man show "Klass Klown". I went yesterday to watch him with amigos and yes it was amazing. I've already watched "Freakz" and "Sexaholics" so I didn't know what to expect.

"Klass Klow" goes deeper into Leguizamo's life and it makes you look back into your own life and your own crazy familia. By bringing his Puerto Rican/Colombian culture into the mix it makes it even funnier. As we should know, we all have strong ties to our family but sometimes things can get a little ugly. It's amazing how he can just put his dad, mom, wife and kids out in the open and have us laugh about them. However, there is one scene which sort of makes you want to wish you packed a tissue...I won't ruin it for you.

So if you're in Philadelphia you have until Wednesday to catch him at the Philadelphia Theatre Company. Or you can catch him at later dates in other cities.
