That Really Doesn't Grind My Gears...Fun Work

You know there are days when working just seems to SUCK! Well I'm glad there are those days when working is fun. This past Saturday I was able to volunteer my time at the 3rd Annual Roots Picnic. Although it was a long, hot day...it was well worth it. Lots of great people and the performances were great as well. Hasta el proximo año!

P.S. This week I'll be working with a camera crew from Boston! I get to show them around town for 4 days. Best part? We're visiting Sesame Place!

That Really Grinds My Gears...BP

As the oil spill in the Gulf continues we have to ask ourselves, "What the hell is going on!?" Sooner or later the oil will wrap around Florida and make its way to our region in the Northeast. Does anyone else think that's a little too crazy? Our beaches will be soaked in the nastiest thing possible. This reminds me of the Saved by the Bell episode when oil struck. Such a tragedy. We really can't blame anyone; actually, only mankind.

Not Your Average Drink

I can't remember the last time I had a Jarrito? An obvious Fanta competitor, this Mexican soda drink comes in many many flavors. There is Guava, Lemon-Lime, Fruit Punch, Mandarin and seven other flavors which can quench your thirst. Fun Fact: Jarritos began as Mexico’s first national soft drink over 60 years ago!

To get people fired up with the ever popular drink we now have Jarritos Nation! The great folks at Jarritos have designed we website to bring all fans of Jarritos together and award prizes for posting photos. Entering is very easy – just head to jarritosnation.com and “claim” a location on the map with a photo. Prizes range from packages of Jarritos to digital cameras and even a 12 day cruise to Hawaii! I've already claimed my location, hopefully you will too.

Tweets on a Disaster Day

With all the chaos going on in the world, we tend to have a little more to say than usual on Twitter. Imagine tweeting during "2012" or "Cloverfield"!? Either way, here are today's tweets of the day.

The latest craze is the World Cup in South Africa and everyone is taking advantage!

When tweeting a little extra is...well a little extra lol.

On a positive note, Philly is in the Stanley Cup!

Really though? I guess a commercial can save the world.

Latina Women...Raawwrr

So what is it about Latinas that gets us as a people all fired up? First you have the teenage sector, then the single ladies and finally...moms! Hell there's even a whole magazine geared towards Latinas (and that's just one). In today's constant changing economy and increasingly competitive business environment, the evolving Hispanic demographic market in the U.S. is one of the most viable segments for incremental growth companies, marketers and multitude of businesses.

If you're interested in Latinas (as a marketingsegment) then there's something for you in NYC. LatinVision Media announced the line-up of top Hispanic marketers scheduled to join its "Marketing to Latinas" conference to discuss emerging trends and new strategies for reaching the $1 trillion market. Yes $1 trillion...a lot of buying power. The one-day conference, which is open to the public, begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 10th at the Prince George Ballroom, 15 East 27th Street, New York, NY 10016.

Mother Nature...She's Angry

In case you can't take a hint, mother nature is extremely angry. Whether she throws natural disasters at us or destroying our technology, I think it's time to start thinking about our future. In the latest "WTF IS GOING ON" scenario, the first of what seems to be MANY tropical storms has hit land. I guess Avatar wasn't good enough; or 2012, The Day After Tomorrow and so on.

According to CNN.com, more than 175 are dead in Central America due to Tropical Storm Agatha. As if a tropical storm wasn't enough, "Guatemala also is feeling the effect of the Pacaya volcano, which erupted Thursday night and continued to spew ash Tuesday. Three people were killed when they were crushed by rocks strewn by the volcano." On a normal year, the Atlantic sparks up around 6 hurricanes; last year we only had 3. This year you ask? Looks like it's going to be either 7 or 8.

Tito in Concert - Part Dos

I can list the things that went wrong with this concert but I won't. Remember it's always about the experience! Tito El Bambino was in concert in Atlantic City last Sunday. Here's just a preview of the concert; mind you I don't go to concerts at all. This was my third...ever.
